Sitar Workshops in Primary Schools Sitar workshops can enhance and broaden the students' studies on India, especially when in the context of multi-cultural weeks.
Within the music class, learning about the sitar will enrich the children's musical awareness and give them a new perspective on melody and rhythm. The class is interactive with plenty of student participation as it is traditionally passed from teacher to student with no written score.
I have a B.A in Performing Arts from Brighton University, specializing in northern Indian classical music at the Guildhall, London with Viram Jasani from 1984-86. More recently I have studied with Balugi Shrivastav, a renowned musician, teacher and international performer. |
I offer hour-long workshops on Indian sitar music to children between the ages of 7-11 years.
